As makers and storytellers, we cant keep ourselves from scratching the various the "itches" we have going on at any given time. We allocate certain amount of time (and and other times get obsessed with) every week to work on various project ideas that happen to germinate in our mind. Even though they say "the journey is important, not the destination" - I can't help but realize that the fun is complete only when the journey is done and we have reached the destination AND we finally have a story to tell and souvenirs to show our friends and family. So even if we work on these various projects for fun, we ought to sprinkle in a bit of discipline and focus to ensure that the projects reach a certain level of completeness and then we can show off our creations - more to ourselves than others, it makes us feel proud. So on these pages, I have tried to bring in a bit of project management and process to my weekend projects - a way to brainstorm, track, document and ensure that everything gets done in a proper manner without incurring stress and keeping the fun intact. PS. Really appreciate JCW who runs JeeLabs who is very regular with his blog posts - always a pleasure to read them. |
